When I first moved to Moscow, I went on google maps to search the nearest grocery store from my apartment. I found Yeliseyevsky to be only a block away and made the short journey walk.
Upon entering the store, I thought I was in the wrong place – a lavish palatial space world’s away from my local Waitrose and ASDA back in the UK. This is one of my first images of Moscow – a city full of architectural buildings harking back to its tsarist days.
This is a place not many tourists (or even locals) know about and very much retains a local grocer feel. Join me on my grocery trip and watch the Youtube video below to know more interesting and historical facts about this place.
